My friend Cole gets more use out of his camera phone than an asian teeny-bopper. He prides himself in “sneakily” taking pictures of people unaware and then posts them online to the surprise of the candid victim. In the past few months he has caught me several times:

These are two gems that Cole produced with his stealthy skills. The on the left taken in May, the other, today. I am eating a gyro (which is my second favorite Greek food next to hummus) in both pictures, but only one possesses the beginnings of a beard. Not particularly important but I felt the contrast was humorous to say the least.

I promise, this is the last blog I will create for a while. I really just wanted a place for my more “proper” pictures to reside. I also wanted a blog that did not require me to write, but only asked for my pictures.
My goal is to save this current blog for my thoughts and scribbles and the new blog for my photos. So, if you want some visual stimulus, you are better suited here

Michael did some crazy leg-work this week and got us interviewed by a radio station and a local newspaper from his hometown of Spartanburg, VA.
(randomly enough Michael and I lived less than an hour away from each other when we both resided in VA.)

Today is day 3 of my 10 day cleanse. Day 1 and 2 were fairly difficult and out of the 6 of us who began this fast, 2 people have already dropped out complaining of serious headaches and stomach cramps. Some are doing it to lose weight, I have chosen to chug this peppery beverage to detox my body and hopefully help me rid my addiction to all things salty.
This morning I made 1 gallon of the Master Cleanse concoction and I plan on having it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

For those interested why this cleanse is so beneficial, please go here:
For those simply curious as to what this drink actually consists of, here you go:
-cayenne pepper
-fresh squeezed lemon
-grade A or B pure maple syrup
-water
Shake and serve.
As Michael Dalton and I prepare for our journey to Iraq it has been noted on more than one occasion that our height, blue eyes and overall American demeanor might cause us to stick out just a bit.
It has also been suggested by more than one person that Michael and I grow beards so as to “blend in” a little more in Iraq during our tenure there. Neither Michael or myself have ever attempted nor are sure if we possess the ability to grow a beard. I am currently 5 weeks and Michael four weeks strong on this journey for follicular manhood.
Here are some pictures of how things are shaping up:

Michael’s seems to actually be growing with the contour of his face while mine is actually some weird hybrid causing me to look like the lovechild of Ashley Judd and Hellraiser.
All things considered, I at least do not get carded at rated R movies anymore.
I am working with another local photographer for the next few weeks to shoot some of his senior portraits. While we have such a cool set to work with, I thought about getting a few portraits done with my newest friend. His name is Lyle and he is 12.

As you can see we take our portraits very seriously and were very intentional about each pose as they are a direct reflection of who we are.
In reality Lyle thinks they are cheesy. But I still want a 4×6.
Dana Roquemore had a birthday this weekend. Here are some pictures from the festivities.

I had an incredible time in Chicago. While there I was able to visit my cousin Jack and good friend Josh. Below are some pictures from the trip.

View from Josh’s apartment.
My first day there I had the privilege to sit in on a closed rehearsal for a play my cousin Jack was directing. I took many pictures of this.

Before they began rehearsal Jack led the cast in a warm-up routine called viewpoint acting. This was incredibly interesting because during this exercise Jack would introduce numerous stimuli (playing music, flickering lights, dodge-balls hurling towards their heads) and the actors would then have to react impromptu as they felt led.

Watching Jack direct and involve himself in the growth of each character as the rehearsal progressed was ridiculously entertaining and inspiring to say the least.

My last day in Chicago landed me a short ride on the blue-line with Josh and into Wicker Park.

We met Jill and Chad in the actual park located in Wicker Park. She was shooting a demo reel for a Chicago based traveling show.

Josh’s good looks and my insatiable curiosity got us interviewed by Jill.

I have countless (about 1300) more pictures I could post. But this is all I have the energy for right now. Now I am going to celebrate Ashley’s birthday.
